Join us for our new program, Tots Itsy Bitsy Yoga especially for children under 2 - crawling to 24 months!  Itsy Bitsy Yoga for Tots is a supportive, fun-loving and active yoga class.  During a Tots Itsy Bitsy Yoga class, crawlers and walkers playfully practice yoga postures while they are standing, sitting up, walking and jumping.  Parents also get to do a little yoga, but no yoga experience is required.

This is the third Yankee Book Swap-and each one seems to become more popular!  This event was held in January and April and participants had so much fun that they requested that it become a semi-annual event!  To participate in the Yankee Book Swap, just select an interesting, unusual, or well-loved used book that you have personally enjoyed, wrap it up so that it remains a bit mysterious and bring it along to the party.  The book, while used, should still be in good condition.  If the book has no dust jacket, please  include a brief note describing the book.   "Yankee Book Swap" participants will enjoy an evening of great conversation and light refreshments will be served.

 

As a special treat, a mystery local Millis author, may start the evening off with a short reading from a piece that was published very recently.

The Friends of the Library Book Sale is a significant source of funding for library programming, including programs for children and adults, museum passes and the online museum pass system, and many other activities.  You can also take this opportunity to renew your membership in the Friends of the Millis Public Library!

 

Book Drop-Offs are accepted at the Library during regular library hours.  The Friends seek books of all kinds in good condition including recent best sellers, fiction, non-fiction, children's books, paperbacks-as well as DVDs, CDs and recorded books on CD.  Please no encyclopedias, textbooks, or magazines.  Thank you for your support!

Michael King, emerging author, self proclaimed sports archeologist and founder of R.U.F.F. (Read Us For Fun Publishing) will be speaking at the Millis Library to enlighten all as to how he became an upcoming author as well as Michael "the trivia" King. 

 

Come join us for an evening not to miss.  Michael is a sports enthusiast, trivia wiz, a fun speaker, and will appeal to audiences ranging from elementary school to senior citizens.  His latest book, PATRIOTS PASSION From Day One revisits the New England Patriots first 50 complete seasons with interesting facts and trivia with a unique perspective that will be unforgettable for any fan.  Copies will be available for purchases, and autographs, following this program.  This event is free, open to the community and an evening not to miss.  All ages from elementary through senior citizens are invited!!

The Friends of the Millis Public Library are sponsoring an Art Show November 1st through November 10th at the Millis Public Library.

 

 

Millis Residents may enter up to two pieces of artwork, including paintings, sculptures, or any other form of art.  Hurry, exhibit space at the Library is limited and will be provided on a "first come, first served" basis!

 

Entry forms are available at the Millis Public Library, the Town Clerk's Office, and on the library's website on the Friends Tab.  Please pre-register your artwork no later than Friday, October 15th via email to George Trumbour at gnctrum@verizon.net.  If you do not have access to a computer, or would like additional information, please contact George Trumbour at 508-376-4805.
